Scarlet is celebrating her twenty-third birthday at a midnight pub in downtown Raleigh when fired gunshots send the freezing January night into a blazing panic. In an effort to escape, Rebekah conjures a powerful entity from the dead to protect her. Only, her summoning fails when bullets tear through her side, leaving her unconscious as cops and ambulances race to the scene. Waking up in a cold hospital bed, Rebekah and her easy-going shapeshifter friend, Lyle Finnegan, try to piece together the clues to discover why a killer is after them and what the killer wants. With little help from the paranormal community, the two of them must ward off vampires and werewolves, to name a few, if they want to unearth why Rebekah is the killer's primary target. Their luck is running out, when what they find is a mystery that neither of them would have ever hoped for.
I really didn’t know how to rate this book! And I had to wait a day before I could write this review. Don’t get me wrong, I loved this book UNTIL the ending! WTF!!!
Although the ending surprised the crap out of me, I must say that this was an awesome read. I loved all the characters! I really ended up loving Casper. This book had it all-- love, action and paranormal stuff. It was a smooth reading and I kind of wish it was a tad bit longer. I will read the rest of the series because the writer did suck me into his world.
I was given this book to read and give an honest review. This review is my honest opinion and I have fully read this book.

This is one o f those short stories that could have gone just a little further. The story line is amazing. The characters are great. But you just get started with the storyline and the book. is over. I would recommend this book to read. It really is a good start.
When a leprechaun decides to entrap a summoner, he has a the bases covered. Rebekah learns all to quickly that what a leprechaun wants is what he gets, no matter how hard you fight him. Each attempt to set things right causes deeper debt. Great Twists. Just when you think all is well, something else goes wrong. Wasn't expecting where this lead but, that's how I like it.
This book by William Stadler has it all action, drama, tugs at heart strings, anger and resolve while the story unfolds of someone good fighting against an evil entity. They are forced into a debt they never asked for, manipulated into a almost un-winnable situation. The Characters fight against the evil character who has committed murder, torn lives apart all for the sake of money. The Summoner struggles through all to do the right thing, fight the good fight thru all the twists and turns and just plain cliff hangers she is forced over. Four leaf clover Leprechauns are beautiful but just plain Rotten to the core !!! Demanding a Goddess be summoned to give him power he doesn't deserve of have any right to. The innocent summoner tries to save the innocent in his plans, and I won't give away the ending.. It's well worth the read, the characters you cheer for and boo at, the final battle at the end are all written to a great end. Rebekah and Lyle fight to the very end against Marcus, people die and evil doesn't win what he wants. I hope the story continues, because I really loved this magical trip, and can't help but what to know what is next.
Sometimes I wish that I read slower, like when I'm enjoying a book as much as this one. It had all the elements I like; complex characters, romance, paranormals living unknown among us, a good plot with twists, and a heroine that gets scared to death, just like ordinary people would. The main character, Rebekah is a summoner, as the title says, which means is that she can summon any kind of warrior, concrete wall, fire and water, taking strength from the soul she has in her power. This type of paranormal was new to me and I enjoyed learning about her powers. All in all a great book, can't wait to read book 2.
Seize the Soul is a great Paranormal read with a Kick-A$$ heroine. If you love that combination you will certainly love most of this book! The main character, Rebekah, is a powerful Summoner. She does various fantastic magicks in a somewhat unusual fashion. In order to perform these feats, she requires the cooperation/power of a soul. A couple of the souls become rather important characters in the tale. Her developing friendship with Lyle the Decanter (of physical forms not alcohol) is an undercurrent of the story. A Decanter at first seems similar to a shifter, but the explanation of its processes and what can be done by a Decanter is very different. The story is very different. Rebekah is shot, tormented by an evil Leprechaun (who kidnaps Lyle to kill him), who wants a powerful device from her. There are vampires, shifters, witches. I HATED, HATED THE ENDING UNTIL TWO DAYS LATER when I recovered and figured out it was really clever. I was so involved with the story that a shock ending ANGERED me, heh. Now I'm on to the next book!
Spoiler alert, I liked this story until the end. I hate stories that don't have a happy ending so this was a real disappointment. I want the characters to win in the end so if you share my thoughts, this story is not for you. Frankly the end upset me and I was sorry I read the book.
I got this book and there was no indication that it wasn't the whole book. I was enjoying it and all of a sudden it ended and said to purchase rest of BOOK click on this link. Not happy but clicked to check price and got a message that the page couldn't be found. Would give zero stars if that were an option!
